BatteryRate was built because the information electric vehicle owners need most — accurate range estimates and charging cost projections — was either locked behind paywalls or obscured by manufacturer marketing.
Electric vehicles are the most data-rich consumer product most people will ever own. The battery management system logs thousands of data points per second. Yet the tools available to owners for basic decisions — how far can I get today, what will this road trip cost me — have historically been imprecise or generic.
BatteryRate was founded in 2023 to close that gap. We build free, no-signup tools that use real-world efficiency data, temperature models, and state-of-charge curves to give EV owners the numbers they actually need. Our calculators have processed 4,217 queries from drivers across 31 countries.
We believe accurate information is a prerequisite for confident EV ownership. Range anxiety is not a battery problem — it is an information problem. Our job is to solve the information side.
Every calculation reflects verified real-world data. We do not round for comfort or inflate estimates for marketing effect.
Our tools are free to use with no sign-up required. We do not believe that basic vehicle data should sit behind a subscription wall.
All calculations run in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit your vehicle data to any server.
The factors behind our calculations — efficiency rates, temperature penalties, charge curves — are documented and available for review.
